Health care reform
Aetna’s work to transform health care in America
We are helping solve the challenges facing the health care system. Our goal is to get everyone covered, improve the quality of health outcomes, and provide better value for each dollar spent on care. We will continue to work toward these goals.
Aetna works with state and federal leaders to develop a collaborative approach to achieving comprehensive health care reform.
- We are fully engaged in helping to make the right kind of reform a reality. In 2009, we offered guidance and data to members of Congress and White House staff. Learn more about achieving the right kind of health care reform.
- In 2008, we played a key role in helping to pass mental-health parity legislation.
- In 2007 we introduced our own comprehensive proposal for transforming the health care system.
- In 2005, we became the first national health care company to advocate an individual coverage requirement to help address the problem of the uninsured.
