Our Pandemic Preparations: Working collaboratively

Collaborating with other leading organizations where appropriate to improve outcomes in the event of a pandemic:

Aetna is an active member of the emergency management task force formed by our largest industry trade group, America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), to formulate industry plans for a pandemic, along with other widespread emergencies like hurricane response. We're also on AHIP's pandemic committee, which was very active in coordinating activities during the H1N1 pandemic.
Aetna's experts also participate in workshops and planning efforts with a range of state, local and national groups to do our part in helping the nation prepare for and respond to a pandemic.
Aetna also is a member of the Health Care and Public Sector Coordinating Council within the National Critical Infrastructure Protection Program.
